WHERE IT ALL BEGAN WITH CHURCH MUSIC AND ME

25 YEARS AGO. . .

I started playing the piano when I was eight years old. Two years later I began flute lessons and band rehearsals. Around that time I joined our church choir with a few of my friends and learned to sing alto while sitting between my mom and a friend.

When I entered high school, our church pianist had to stop playing for a few months. I hesitantly jumped into the position for a little while, quite green but loving it! Occasionally after this I started accompanying some special music, and then our church men’s ensemble. One day, I was asked to play for the church cantata. Yikes! It was very scary, but I loved every minute!

In college I studied church music, which I had by now learned to love. I went on a few trips overseas, met my husband. Now, 12 years and 4 children later, we are serving the Lord together in England where my husband is the Pastor of our church.

Since moving overseas, I have become much more aware of the many churches who have few people wearing many hats. This knowledge has fuelled my desire to help Christians improve their local church music programme.

Most of the music on this site has been written for our current church. Songs were written to sing as solos or choir arrangements. Hymn arrangements have been played during our collection (offertory), and children’s arrangements have been sung by our own children. These songs are our church music programme in a nutshell.

One more thing. If you are looking for sheet music, please continue to browse my music at SacredSheetMusic.com Do you love these pieces? Please share them with a friend.
